Old Devil Moon’s One Year of Voodoo Charm

By Thursday, September 28, 2017

On September 23rd San Francisco’s, Louisiana-styled Old Devil Moon celebrated its first year anniversary. We may have passed their commemorating ceremony, but thankfully Eloise Porter of SFWeekly shared some of the new changes to look forward to

Here is the recap on the New Orleans-esque bar:

On top of established hits like fried Gulf shrimp, Oysters Rockefeller, fried chicken, and roast beef po’boys, ODM has updated the options to indulge in. This includes dishes like fried pickle spears, Louisiana hot link po’boys, BBQ beef sandos, and devil’s pups.

Looking for a boozy option? With one Advanced and two Certified Cicerones behind the bar – you are assured a rotating selection of the best beer around. In addition, ODM’s cocktail menu boasts a passion for whiskey and rum. The update menu includes some more tropical options sure to delight.

The Devil’s Daiquiri (a rhum agricole daiquiri with Averna) and the Bitter Mai Tai (made with Campari and Jamaican rum). A classic Boulevardier can be found on draft alongside pours of Fernet Francisco. Don’t miss the Spirit Raiser (a tequila-based take on a Corpse Reviver) and The Moon Also Rises (a mezcal-based take on a The Sun Also Rises) for a play on the classics.

Old Devil Moon proudly invites you to hang on their big sunny patio or check out their comfortable atmosphere dripping with black magic – candles, tarot, and ouija. Some of the bartenders double as Tarot readers, so don’t be surprised if you leave with a glimpse into your future.

We applaud Old Devil Moon for making it to this milestone and look forward to celebrating with them this weekend but can’t help but wonder — did they cast a collective voodoo charm over the whole city to keep us coming back for more?
